Obituary



Michael F. Connolly (ret. BostonPD) age 88 of Easton, died September 7, 2018 at Good Samaritan Medical Center after a period of failing health. He was the devoted husband for 61 years of the late Jeanne M. (Hunt) Connolly. He was born in Boston son of the late Patrick and Laura (Chessman) Connolly and was a graduate of South Boston High School. Michael had lived in Easton since 2017and formerly resided in Norton.

During the Korean War, Michael served in the US Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He retired from the Boston Police Department in 1995 after serving 36 years. He had been a member of the Mounted Police and Motorcycle Units.

In his free time, Michael enjoyed playing the organ. He also loved to travel with his wife, cruising, dancing and sharing good cuisine. He spent all of his holidays with his late sister-in-law Mary McIntyre and her family.

Michael is survived by his niece Deborah Basse and her husband Albert Basse, III of N. Easton and their children Cheryl Basse of N. Easton, Brittany Basse of White Plains, NY; Alexa Basse of San Sabastian, Spain and Albert Basse, IV of Boston.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton, Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 5-7pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 9:30am, followed by burial in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
