Obituary

Andrew M. Cabral, Sr., 32, of New Bedford died September 8, 2018 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital after complications from open heart surgery.
He was the husband of Elizabeth M. (Quinn) Cabral.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Jane (Bonas) Shea and her husband Justin Shea, Sr. of Lakeville and Edward Cabral and his wife Jane of Fairhaven, he lived in Dartmouth most of his life.
Andrew was a commercial scalloper. He loved being a part of the crew and being at sea.
There was nothing he loved more than his family. Andrew Jr. his mini me and Ellie his little princess. The bond they shared was indescribable. His memory will live on forever through his children.
He was an amazing husband, father and uncle who enjoyed spending time in Maine with his family.
In his youth he played football, baseball, basketball and soccer. Andrew was an avid Boston sports fan.
Andrew had a very special relationship with his sister Krystal. Growing up they were thick as thieves and he was her protector, he loved her and her daughters, Kaylin and Kylianna, as if they were his own.

Survivors include his parents; his wife; a son, Andrew M. Cabral, Jr; a daughter, Ellie M. Cabral; a sister, Krystal Imbeau and her husband Ronald of Dartmouth; a brother, Jacob Cabral of Fairhaven; 2 step-brothers, Justin Shea, Jr. and Brandan Shea, both of Maine; a step-sister, Katelyn Menard and her companion Ian Garcia of Providence; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles M. Quinn, Jr. and Mary (Tapper) Quinn of Dartmouth; 3 brothers-in-law, Charles M. Quinn, III, Michael Quinn and Aaron Martel and his wife Emily; his sister-in-law, Kaitlyn Quinn; his grandparents, Louis Bonas of Dartmouth and Esmeralda (Arruda) Cabral of New Bedford; 2 nieces, Kaylin Cabral and Kylianna Imbeau; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was the grandson of the late Eleanor (Sylvia) Bonas and Herman Cabral.
His Funeral will be held on Thursday, September 13th at 9:45 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Fairhaven at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, September 12th from 4-8 PM.
