Elvira A."Vera" Grillo, of Marblehead, formerly of Medford, died Saturday, September 8th. She was 95. Born in Somerville. She was the daughter of the late Chester and Josephine (Russo) Grillo.
Vera was an expert when it came to gardening. A green thumb came naturally. With help from her loving brother in-law Ralph, their yard always looked beautiful. She was extremely dedicated to her garden, planting perennials and annuals at various times of the year so that her garden was at constant bloom.
When Vera was not in her garden, she was with her family. They were her pride and joy, especially her nieces, nephew and great-nieces and nephew. She loved them unconditionally. Her generous, loving spirit made you feel at ease.
Vera was the dear sister of Louise Tella and her husband Ralph of Marblehead. Loving Aunt of Linda Glazer and her husband Hugh of Marblehead, Janet Anzalone and her husband John of Arlington and Ralph Tella and his wife Flora of Malden, and the great-aunt to Jaclyn Lahaie of Quincy, Alexandra Glazer and her fiancé James Bracso III of Boston, Zachary, Samantha and Stephanie Tella all of Malden.
