Jayne Elizabeth Fletcher Hendley, 78, of Tifton passed away Friday, September 7, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Pinetta Baptist Church in Irwin County with Dr. Danny Ray officiating. Mrs. Hendley will be laid to rest at Pinetta Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 9, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Pinetta Baptist Church in Irwin County.
Greg Tucker, Mitchell Tucker, Samuel Tucker, Matthew Fletcher, Alan Martin, Nathan Martin and Will Mixon will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 30, 1940 in Tift County, Mrs. Hendley was the daughter of the late Sutton Fletcher and Myrtle Hall Fletcher. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman R. Hendley; one step-daughter, Sharon Martin; two brothers, Jimmy Fletcher and Joel Fletcher; and two sisters, Sue Carol Wiggins and Linda Brown. Before retiring, she was employed with the Tift County Tax Commissioner’s Office. She served as a Pink Lady at Tift Regional Medical Center, served as their president, as well as serving as Georgia State President for the Georgia Pink Ladies Auxiliary. She developed the WHALE Program to identify children in need. She was a member of Pinetta Baptist Church in Irwin County.
Mrs. Hendley is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Greg Tucker of Tifton; two grandchildren, Mitchell Tucker and Samuel Tucker; and her nieces and nephews, Kimberly Kimbrell, Leigh Kimbrell, Bo Brown, Rosa Brown, Matthew Fletcher and Jamie Fletcher.
