New Bedford – Leonarda Roque Craveiro, age 98, of New Bedford passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Royal Taber Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Joao Roque and the late Americo J. Craveiro and the daughter of the late Aurelio and Maria Encarnacao Almeida.
Leonarda was born in Nabainhos, Portugal and moved to New Bedford in 1958. She was a loving homemaker to her family.
She is survived by her children, Maria L. Santos and her husband, Manuel of New Bedford, Julio A. Roque and his wife, Flora of South Dartmouth and Maria C. Machado and her husband, Joseph of South Dartmouth; 4 grandsons and seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and godchildren. She was also the sister of several deceased siblings.
Her family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Taber Street Nursing Home and Fidelis Hospice Care for their special attentiveness with Leonarda.
