In Taunton, Geraldine L. “Geri” Cormier, Age 80, passed away in Morton Hospital on September 6, 2018, following a brief illness with her loving family by her side. Geri was the wife of the late Rene Cormier, She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Louis & Esther (Romani) Chiesa. Geri had resided all her life in Taunton. She was a dedicated and caring homemaker who was affectionately known as Auntie Geri to her day care children. Geri was a member of the St. Mary’s Women’s Guild, an officer of the Weir Seniors and volunteered in the Taunton school system and the voting polls. Geri enjoyed attending historical lectures, playing cards when she won, puzzles, board games, movies, Cape Cod and above all cherished the time spent with her family. Geri is survived by her beloved children, David Cormier and his wife Marietta of Norton, Thomas Cormier and wife Lori and Julienne Hubert and husband Douglas of Taunton, her siblings, Sandra McDermott and husband James of Taunton, James Chiesa of Taunton, her sister in law Dorothy Cormier of Taunton and late brother William Chiesa. Geri also leaves her grandchildren, Angela, Robert, John, Lily, Henry and Michelle. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Wednesday, September 12th at 9am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church at 10am. Relatives and friends are also invited to visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-7pm. Burial in the family lot in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton. Donations in Geri’s memory may be made to [email protected]
