Paula Hesdorfer Abramson
PORTLAND- Paula Abramson, born in Bangor, Maine November 14, 1947 fought a long battle with leukemia, passing peacefully on September 6, 2018. As a lifelong educator, Paula shared her gift for teaching, her endearing spirit and endless patience with hundreds of Maine students young and old – first as a primary teacher at Hall-Dale, Winthrop, Massabesic, and Kennebunk schools, later on as Director of Adult Education in Kennebunk and finally as a teacher to her twin granddaughters in the art of knitting, watercolors and playfulness. As a mother, grandmother, wife and friend, she gave of herself completely, as her love, energy and positivity were seemingly without limit. Paula was vivacious, full of youth, and was always up for adventure. She loved the outdoors, dancing, traveling the world, spending quality time with family and friends, as well as respites at her family camp on Great Moose Lake. She is survived by her husband Richard Abramson of 46 years, daughter Trisha Abramson Mason, son-in-law Peter Mason, and twin five year old grand daughters Alexandra and Sierra Mason. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood or volunteering with the Red Cross, Paula’s life was graciously extended by the gifts of other’s donations.
