Obituary

Arthur R. Guertin, 83, of Matunuck, formerly of Cranston, was called to heaven while surrounded by family on August, 31, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Jane (Ferrucci) Guertin. They had been married for fifty-six years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ellen (Loffler) Guertin,

Arthur had worked for many years as lead toolmaker, employed by the Swarovski Company. He had also served in the United States Army. Arthur enjoyed restoring old cars in his garage in Cranston. He was known as, "Mr. Fix It." Upon retirement, he loved to spend his days on the water while fishing on his boat, "The Right Nut." Arthur took daily drives to East Matunuck and Deep Hole with his dog, Queenie. He spent much of his time listening to live music at area pubs. He loved the company of others; sitting and enjoying a cold beer. Arthur liked to spread laughter as he pranked others. His carefree spirit will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, John Guertin and Ellen Fuller. He leaves four children; Debra Guertin of Port St. Lucie, formerly of Cranston, Diana Strembicki and her husband, Richard of Winter Springs, FL, Linda Beaudry and her husband Michael of Charlestown, and Arthur Guertin Jr. of Charlestown. In addition, he leaves 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 10th at 11:30 am at St. Matthew's Church, Cranston. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-7 in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Rescue of RI, PO Box 458, Wakefield, RI 02880 or online at their website
