Stevie Aaron Taylor, 59, of Tifton passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Taylor at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Lawrence Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. Eulogies will be given by Amber Spivey and Johnny Tawzer with the Rev. Ricky Wells officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Keith Kendrick, Steve Flippo, Carl Harris, Harold Turner Sr., Justin Bailey and Brian Bailey will serve as pallbearers.
Born February 16, 1959 in Tifton, Mr. Taylor was the son of Susie Mae Phillips Taylor of Tifton and the late Gordon “Clifford” Taylor. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Raymond Jones; and several aunts and uncles. He worked as a mechanic and loved his work. He enjoyed dirt-track racing and working on race cars. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Taylor is survived by one daughter, Chasity Taylor of Tifton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Chris and Julie Taylor of Cairo and Preston and Wendy Taylor of Tifton; one sister, Cindy Jones of Ty Ty; one granddaughter, Madison Taylor; his nieces and nephews, Amber and Barry Spivey, Shae Jones, Colby Jones, Kellyn Taylor and Macy and Alexis Moorman; one great-nephew, Jimi Lee Spivey; his aunt, Bermont DeLille of Coolidge; his uncle and aunt, Gary and Angie Woodard of Tifton; and numerous cousins.
Mr. Taylor’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Hospice of Tift Area for their loving care and kindness to Mr. Taylor. The family would also like to express a special thanks to Mr. Taylor’s nursing angels, Tammy and Kirsten.
