William J. Miles, 65, of Needham, a Quality Control Engineer for Gillette and Genzyme, died suddenly Tues Nov 29, 2005 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham.
Born in Madison WI, he was raised in Milwaukee. He received his BA from Univ of WI Milwaukee. He worked as a quality control engineer for Gillette in Boston for 32 years and was currently employed in the same capacity for Genzyme. He was active in the Town of Needham, having served on the school committee for 9 years, the Personnel Board and the Finance Committee. He was currently a Needham Town Meeting Member.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, JoAnn (Spinelli) Miles, his children Kathleen Frattasio of Walpole, Scott Miles of Middleboro, Peggy Dickinson of Duxbury and John Miles of NYC, his sisters Barbara Borchardt of Rogers AK, and Joan Cianciola of Milwaukee WI and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Fri Dec 2 at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Church, Needham. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. The family will receive friends at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Thurs from 5-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 322 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105.
