Obituary

Mary L. Schramm, 91, of Rockford, Il., formerly of Ledyard, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 1, 1926 in Westbrook, CT, the daughter of the late Matthew and Mildred (Hall) Piscatelli Sr.

Mary enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing bingo, crabbing, playing cards, playing slot machines, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Most of all, she loved the New York Yankees.

Mary cherished the time she spent with family and friends. She took pride in raising her daughters, and helping to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Survived by her daughters Mary (Richard) Watton Pederson and Clara (Michael) Kopycienski; grandchildren, Daniel (Beth) Watton, Dawn (Raymond) Hooper, Aaron (Aimee`) Brad Watton, Christy (Robert) Burton; great-grandchilden, Olivia Watton, Deanna and Rachel Hooper, Ashlyn, Aaron, Cierra, and Cerenity Watton, and Elizabeth Burton; Siblings, Gerald Piscatelli, Jacqueline Treola, and Althea Rivard. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Predeceased by her brothers: Alexander, Matthew, John, and William Piscatelli; Sisters, Anna Strickland Drake, Beverly Bittner, Shirley Tucker, Barbara Dean, Sandra Proctor, Pauline Proctor; Son-in-law, David Watton Sr., and grandson David Watton Jr.

Her family will greet relatives and friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
On Monday, Sept. 10, all are invited to gather at the funeral home at 10 a.m. to proceed to Elm Grove Cemetery in Mystic for an 11 a.m. graveside service.
