Isabelle I. Doyle, 99, of Anderson passed away at Bethany Pointe on September 4, 2018 and went to be with her Lord and Savior.
She was born on February 24, 1919 in Tipton County, Indiana, the daughter of Otis and Olive (Stoffer) Illyes. She became an exceptional homemaker, loving mother and devoted wife of 78 years. She married Leon H. Doyle on June 17, 1939.
Isabelle and family joined Mount Hope Church of Anderson in 1949 which later became St. Matthew United Methodist Church. For many years, she was an important, involved member of the Ladies Ruth Circle. Isabelle and Leon founded the Educational Endowment Fund at St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Isabelle & Leon in their later years loved traveling, cruises, and spent many winters in Florida.
During her last weeks, Isabelle talked about how she could feel the Lord holding and comforting her. She will be dearly missed, my best friend.
She is survived by her sons, Gary W. (Nancy) Doyle, and Jeffery A. Doyle, six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law Caroline Doyle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leon Doyle, middle son, Michael Leon Doyle, sister, Zudora (Illyes) Stroud, brother, Manley Illyes and brother-in-law, Harold Lee Doyle.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor P.T. Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the funeral on Thursday at the funeral home.
