Evelyn M. (Andresen) Iacovo, age 85 of Brockton died Tuesday September 4, 2018 at the home of her daughter. She was the loving wife of the late V. James Iacovo. Evelyn was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Amundus and Astrid (Rud) Andresen and was a lifelong resident of the city.
A graduate of Brockton High School, Evelyn had worked at Verde Shoe in Stoughton for many years and then was a team leader at Raytheon for over twenty years.
Evelyn bred and sold German shepherd dogs and enjoyed her Arabian horse. She adored gardening and was always working around her house and yard. Evelyn will be remembered as a very loving and caring lady who sacrificed so that her family and friends did not go without. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson Ben.
Evelyn was the mother of Jimmy Iacovo of Canton, Pia Fortin of Raynham, Peter Iacovo of Brockton and the late Michael Iacovo. She was the loving grandmother of Benjamin James Fortin and sister of the late Robert Andresen. She also leaves several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Friday 5-8pm. A Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10am followed by burial in Melrose Cemetery.
