Charles Robinson, age 77, entered into rest on Monday, September 3, 2018.
Charles was born in Augusta to the late James Roy Robinson and Mary Elizabeth Myers Robinson. Charles served 26 years in the United States Army, retiring as a Master Sergeant. During his service, he received numerous commendations including a Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, and the Expert Qualification Badge (Rifle-M16). Following retirement, Charles lived in San Antonio, Texas and several years in Costa Rica. He enjoyed fishing (whether it be in a lake, a stream, or the ocean), traveling and visiting historical sites- specifically those pertaining to the Confederacy. Charles loved his country and he was known as a true patriot.
He is survived by his two sons, Charles Vaughn Robinson of San Antonio, Texas and Martin Robinson of Carlsbad, New Mexico; sisters and brother, Betty Powell of Hepzibah, Sandra Box of Grovetown, and Larry Robinson (Emily) of Wrens; and step mother, Mary Robinson of Grovetown.
Graveside services will take place at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 6, 2018 in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Dr. Clayton R. Galloway, Sr. will officiate.
Visitation and viewing will take place thirty minutes prior to the service at the graveside.
