Greg Matthew McKay, 43, of New Bedford passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2018 in St. Luke’s hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of Michael E. McKay of Florida and the late Irene (Lambert) LaFountain of New Bedford. Along with his father, survivors include his son Mathew McKay of New Bedford; three daughters, Shelby McKay of New Bedford, Leila McKay of FL and Bria McKay of FL; two brothers Ryan Witkos of New Bedford and the late Ryan Lambert; two nieces, Kayla Martins and Kylee Lambert and a nephew, Mason Lambert.
For years, Mr. McKay worked as a painter and tattoo artist. Most recently he worked as a commercial fisherman. He also enjoyed rock music, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, camping, old cars, coffee, Marvel movies and was a fantastic cook. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Visitation will be held in Southcoast Funeral Home on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 6:30PM – 8:15PM, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA. Burial will be held at River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven, MA on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:00AM.
