As part of his job he had the opportunity to meet President Jimmy Carter when he visited Iran. While in school at Alborz, he would make trips to his childhood village to teach young students the Armenian language.

He loved life and its simple pleasures. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time in his garden, deep sea fishing, hunting, and had a passion for dancing.
