Marie L Cree (Shaughnessy), 76, of Whitman, MA, passed away on September 2 at Harbor House Nursing and Rehab after a long illness.
Born in Boston in 1942 to Robert P. and Catherine G. Shaughnessy (Welch), Marie enjoyed retirement following 15 years as the receptionist at Gannett Fleming Engineering in Braintree, MA.
Her hobbies included watching her sons play soccer, shooting darts, playing pool, crocheting, and watching the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Bruins, and New York Giants. She was a proud 3x survivor of breast cancer. She was also a past member of the South Shore Irish American Society.
She was the partner of the late Kevin O'Keefe for 28 years, the wife of the late Joseph Cree, and sister of June Egan (Shaughnessy) of Cazenovia, NY and Robert Shaughnessy of Moor Park, CA. She leaves behind 4 children: Lynn Maynard of Whitman, Michael Cree of Norfolk, VA, Kevin Cree of Whitman, and Brian Cree of Virginia Beach, VA. She also was the proud grandmother of Christopher, Aaron, Nathan, Meredith, William, Alanna, and Duncan.
Family and friends invited to attend her visitation on Friday September 7 from 10:00-11:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A graveside service will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
