Dorothy M. (Ferro) Soares was born December 31, 1933 to the late Jessie and Helen (Correia) Ferro in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
In her early days, she was employed by many different hotel companies and restaurants in
Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. She also worked for many different domestic households.
On August 31, 2018, Dorothy was called home from labor to reward.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Ricardo Soares; her children, Michael Lombard, Bernadette (Harold) Correia, Linda Borges, Ricardo Soares Jr., Jose (Sue) Soares, Maria (Ben) Soares-Matthews, Ricardo (Soraiah) Soares II, Cher (Antonio) Borges; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
