Joyce I. Benoit age 75, of Brockton died Thursday August 30, 2018 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Armand and Jeanette (Alexander) Benoit. A long-time Brockton resident, Joyce was a licensed psychotherapist at The Listening Place of the South Shore. She had received her degree from Lesley College in Cambridge. In addition to her work as a therapist, Joyce worked at Massasoit Community College and she practiced aromatherapy. She enjoyed traveling, biking, taking long walks, yoga and her beloved dachshunds. She had also been a member of the Red Hat Society.
Joyce was the mother of Marc MacLaughlin and grandmother of Kyle MacLaughlin. She was the sister of William Benoit and his wife Constance of Raynham and aunt of Lynne Benoit of West Roxbury and Kristine Chochrek and her husband Michael of Foxboro.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at 10 am in St. Basil Chapel, 122 Park St. on the campus of Bridgewater University.
