Robert J. Burke, age 73, of Brockton, formerly of Dorchester, died peacefully, August 30, 2018 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Bob was the loving husband of Lynda M. (Powell) (Olcott) Burke. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Rita (Moylan) Burke. Bob was raised in Dorchester, attended St. Ambrose Elementary School and graduated from Charlestown High School. For 33 years he had been employed as a driver for Burke Distributing Company in Randolph, and was a member of Teamsters Local 122. Bob enjoyed time with his family and pets, golfing, Foxwoods and the Saratoga Race Track. He also enjoyed time with his good friends at the Elks in Randolph where he had been a longtime member.
In addition to his wife Lynda, he is survived by his children Cheryl Avitabile of Hanover, Christine Vittorioso and her husband Joe of Stoneham, Suzann Sweeney and her husband Marty of Dorchester; stepchildren Michael Olcott and his wife Pam of Brockton, David Olcott and his wife Pam of Brockton and Michelle Martinez and her husband Miguel of Brockton; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a brother Stephen Burke. He is also survived by his pets Trixie-Marie, Lola-Jean, Brady Thomas and beloved cat Oreo.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Tuesday 3-6pm followed by a funeral service at 6pm.
