Belmont---- Raymond “Ray” J. Despres, 60, died Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at home.
Ray was born March 11, 1958 in Orlando, FL the son of Robert and Frances (Palinkas) Despres. Ray grew up in Danbury, CT and eventually moved to the Lakes Region, where he had lived for many years. Ray worked as a master tool maker for several companies before founding R&R Despres Machine.
Ray was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed camping, cooking, and riding motorcycles.
Ray is survived by a son, Raymond Despres; three daughters, Michelle Despres, Tara King, and Christine Bilodeau; eight grandchildren, Taylor, Alexis, Riley, Carter, Brayleigh, McKenna, Sammie, Antoinette; three brothers, Dennis, Robert, and George Despres; a half-brother, Robert S. ; three sisters, Denise LaPlante, Roberta Broussard, and Elizabeth McBey; a step-sister, Deborah Despres; and several nieces and nephews. Ray is predeceased by his father, Robert Despres; his ex-wife, Louann Despres; and a half-sister, Jeannette.
There will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of Ray’s life will be held Sunday, September 2nd, 2018 at 309 Belknap Mountain Road Gilford, NH 03249.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 3, 2018 at St. Andre-Bessette Parish -Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave Laconia, NH.
