LOWELL—Mary G. (Griffin) McNamara, a lifelong resident of Lowell died Saturday morning at the Boston Medical Center.
She was born in Lowell, on May 29, 1915, a daughter of the late Martin and Delia (Kelley) Griffin, and was the wife of the late Frederick J. McNamara, who died in 1971. She was educated in St. Patrick’s Grammar School and Notre Dame Academy.
Mrs. McNamara was employed by the Raytheon Corporation, in Lowell and Andover. She was also a longtime communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Surviving her are a son-in-law: Russell Steeves, of Chelmsford; a daughter-in-law: Ellen McNamara Kettle, of Dennis; a niece: Kazia McClean, of Chelmsford; eight grandchildren: Kathleen Leonard, Patricia Steeves, Mary Ellen Curtis, Sharon Deloia, James Steeves, Martha Collins, Shaun McNamara and Brenda Hughes; also fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Arleen Steeves and Frederick McNamara, and the sister of the late Raymond Griffin.
Friends may call Monday, June 17th, from 6 to 8 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Tuesday morning, June 18th, at 9 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
