Ryan Clay Vaughan of Oxnard, CA passed away peacefully at his home on August 26, 2018 after his long courageous battle with cancer. Ryan was born in Springfield, Missouri on August 14, 1973 to Jean Vaughan and Tom Vaughan. Ryan was raised in Missouri until he moved to Ventura at the age of 17 years old. He graduated from Carpinteria High School in 1991. Ryan mostly enjoyed being an uncle and "goodwill hunting". Everyone knew him as "uncle Ryan", he was loving, kind, generous, and funny and would always lend a hand to anyone in need. He is survived by his wife of 16 years Kim Vaughan, his mother Jean Vaughan, his father Tom Vaughan and step mother Dixie Vaughan, his younger brother Jesse Vaughan and his wife Anna, and their children Judah and Justus. Other nieces and nephews include: Austin, Lily-Anne, Evan, Lucy, Mae, Delaney. Many aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout Texas, Missouri, and California. He was very close to his grandmother (Mamma) Joan Franck of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clyde and Neva Vaughan.
Family and friends are invited to Memorial Services to be officiated by Rev. Carol Lotts on Saturday September 1, 2018 at 12 Noon in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street Ventura. The family will receive guests at a visiting hour in the Funeral Home from 11am to 12 Noon preceding the Funeral Services. Guests are invited to dress casually. Following the services the family will receive guests at a "Celebration of Life" at their residence at 730 Nile River Drive Oxnard CA. 93036
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made in Ryan's name to Santa Barbara Bird Sanctuary, a Cancer research center of your choice, or if you prefer to donate to the GoFundMe account titled "Ryan's cancer treatment fund".
