Nicholas ‘Niko’ Lymbertos, a noted Provincetown artisan, died Thursday August 23rd at Seashore Point Wellness and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his family. He was 75.
Born in Athens Greece, the son of the late Constantinos and Maria Lymbertos, he emigrated to the United States in 1970, making Provincetown his home. He was the owner of Labyrinth Jewelers for 40 years and was the longest running tenant in the Whalers Wharf. He was famous for his copper jewelry that was loved by many folks from around the world. One of the last few hand crafters around, his copper jewelry designs were brought over from Greece and perfected in Provincetown. Many people enjoyed stopping by his shop to say hello. He was fond of saying that ‘I just want to remain an individual’.
He is survived by his sons Roberto Lymbertos of Harwich, Nicholas Lymbertos Jr. and Kostas Lymbertos, both of Canada, and Mario Lymbertos of Greece, in addition to his many local friends who appreciated his great kindness.
At his request, his cremains will be spread in Cape Cod Bay.
