Mrs. Hester N. Jones was born on November 10, 1905 in Carroll County, Mississippi and died on November 28, 2005 at the Beverly Health Care Facility in Batesville, Mississippi.
The visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 from 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Thursday, December 1, 2005 at 1:00 pm. The committal will be held in Carey Springs Cemetery in Pontotoc County with Richard Jones, Harvey Jones, James Jones, James Walker, Joseph Walker, and Cleveland Lindsey serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Jones was a retired factory worker, a member of the Eastern Star, and a member of Campground Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey H. Jones in 1948; two daughters, Ruth Lindsey and Lucille Hillhouse; two sisters, Fannie Bell Harwell and Jimmie Lou Holland; and two brothers; Ned Nail and Fred Nail.
She is survived by two daughters, Oudeia McGregor of Tupelo, MS and Helen Walker of Southaven, MS; two sons, Wilborn Jones of Water Valley, MS and Russell Jones of Plainfield, IL; one sister, Mae Lindsey of Water Valley, MS; three brothers, Lawrence Nail of Gainsville, VA, William Nail of Yazoo City, MS and Ray Nail of Battle Creek, MI; 21 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, 14 Great-Great Grandchildren.
