Obituary

Kristin B. Greene peacefully transitioned to the next phase of her joyful being on 24 August 2018 at her home.

Born in Westerly, RI, on February 23, 1968, Kristin spent the formative years of her youth in Fairfield, CT, graduating from Ludlowe High School. An all-around athlete, playing softball and basketball, she was a cheerleader as well.

After receiving her Respiratory Therapy degree from Norwalk Community College, Kristin embarked on a 25-year career of attending to those in need. At Norwalk, Middlesex and Lawrence and Memorial Hospitals respectively, Kristin provided direct, often critical patient care to the profuse acclaim of those she tended. Her unfiltered, insightful lovingness engendered genuine thankfulness.

Stricken with Multiple Sclerosis, neuropathy and finally cancer, her health claimed her ability to work but not her ability to empower the goodness in those she met. The sunshine she loved was as a reflection of the light she gave. Appreciative of the world about her, she favored animals, fast engines, style, beaches, and art, but mostly the gathering of friends and family. When center of attention, Kristin loved to see all engaged in laughter. Her children were her epicenter. She had a special place in her heart for the downtrodden with equal regard for the homeless and empowered. No one cared less about politics and more about people than Kristin. Her profound beauty never waned.

Kristin is the daughter of Edward and Barbara (Ringman) Hahne, of Charlestown RI who survive her. Her twin sons Adam and Matthew Greene also survive her, along with brother Eric Hahne and wife Dana, children Brett, Carson and Linnea, and former husband, devoted friend Joe.

A Memorial Service commemorating Kristin's life will be at 10 AM this Saturday, September 1, at Poquonnock Bridge Baptist Church, reception to follow. Burial will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers consider donations in Kristin's memory to the charity of one's choice.
