Joanne P. (Crowell) Quinn, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a 3 month courageous battle with cancer. She was 70 years of age.
Joanne was born in Boston on March 6, 1948, a daughter of the late Roland B. Crowell and Nancy T. (Calabro) Crowell. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1965. Joanne worked for over 44 years for several retail department stores and especially enjoyed her employment at Filene's Basement Stores. She was a volunteer at the Zelma Lacey House in Charlestown and enjoyed traveling to Disney World with each one of her 5 grandchildren whom she cherished each and every day along with her husband and children.
Joanne is the adored wife of 50 years to Joseph W. Quinn. She is the devoted mother of Julie Collier and her husband Michael, Lisa Quinn and Mark Quinn. She is the loving Nana to Andrew, Michael, Keaton, Amanda and Travis. She is the beloved sister of Richard Crowell, Marilyn Bowen, Donna Phillips and the late Joan McGuire, Ronald Crowell, Geraldine Daley and Robert Crowell. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joanne's Funeral on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
