Catherine Elizabeth Tavares 74, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2018 at Hulitar Inpatient Hospice Center, Providence.
Born in Pawtucket, daughter of the late Louis and Rose (Puliafuco) Fish Sr.
Cathy dedicated her life to Nursing. She was a strong advocate for individuals with Mental Illness. She knew the only way things would change, is if someone stood up for change. Her compassion and dedication to her patients offered them access to medications, counseling, and Emergency Mental Health Services. Most importantly, she offered them Human Dignity. A hand to hold, a safe place to share their burdens.
Cathy also enjoyed, singing and laughing with her family and friends.
She was a beautiful soul who will be sorely missed by many.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children. A son, Mark Keough Jr. and his wife Dawn. Two-daughters, Lisa and Michele Tavares and six cherished grandchildren, Amanda An-Rose, Luis, Kayla, Alexis Elizabeth, Tessa, Jaida Rose, and a great-granddaughter Deziah.(Precious)
Catherine was the sister of Thomas Fish, Dr. Kenneth Fish and the late Louis Fish Jr.
An adored Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A 10:00 am mass will be held on Monday, August 27, at St. Martha’s Church, 2595 Pawtucket Ave, East Providence. Burial will take place in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 661 Prospect St, Pawtucket.
