Tiziana (Vial) DiFusco, a long-time Somerville resident, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 22nd at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 73.
Born in Asolo, Treviso, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Valentino Vial and Orsola Forner.
Tiziana was a kind and loving person who loved her family more than anything. She was selfless, thoughtful of others and always made a conscious effort to be positive while never speaking a negative word about other people. A woman of great faith, Tiziana had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. She made a significant effort to live her life and raise her children in accordance with the Christian virtues of faith, hope and love. She lead by example and passed on her wisdom, care and guidance to her children and grandchildren. Tiziana was always available to help her loved ones and would often be sought after for advice by her grandchildren.
Tiziana worked as a seamstress while raising her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, reading, traveling and working in her garden. Tiziana loved knitting sweaters, booties, blankets and clothing for her family. She enjoyed reading different genres, but her favorites were romance, mysteries and autobiographies. Tiziana’s favorite autobiography was of Saint Pope John Paul II. She was also an avid reader of Reader’s Digest. Tiziana loved traveling to visit her family, and vacationed many times to Italy and France. One of the most memorable vacations her family took her on was making a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France. It was a special experience that she treasured. Tiziana enjoyed working in the yard and tending to her flower garden. Some of her favorites were growing pink and red roses and hydrangeas. Her family remembers the time Tiziana grew beautiful red roses that had an exquisite fragrance like no other. Tiziana also enjoyed poetry and would recite a special poem annually on New Year’s Eve that she learned as a child in school.
Tiziana was the beloved wife of Giuseppe DiFusco, with whom she shared 53 loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Anna R. DiFusco Petrucci and her husband Fiore of Burlington and Daniela DiFusco-Delecolle and her husband Fabrice of France. Tiziana was the loving grandmother of Annalisa and Monica T. Petrucci, both of Burlington, Jordan J., Amanda and Valentina E. Delecolle, all of France. She was the dear sister of Augusta Zampin and her husband Lodovico and Teresa Zanandrea and her husband Angelo, all of Italy. Tiziana is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford on Saturday, August 25th at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
