Buddy was born in Worcester, son of the late Maurice and Beatrice
(Murphy) Ryan. He began his career at age 14 to provide for his family. He had an extreme work ethic, having worked over 75 years in every area of the supermarket industry, finally ending his career affectionately known as “the candy man”. He received an award for being the employee with the longest tenure in company (now Price Chopper) history. Family was everything to him, always making time for a conversation and genuinely wanting to know how everyone is. He will always be remembered as a person of very strong faith and positive spirit, regularly saying “peace” in lieu of goodbye.
