Elizabeth M. (Ferullo) Lydon “Betty” a life-long Medford resident passed away peacefully at the Aberjona Nursing Center of Winchester. She was 91. Born and raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Raimo) Ferullo. A loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, Betty worked in her younger years as an operator for New England Telephone Co. She was most proud of her many years of service to the people and children of Medford as a Crossing Guard. She enjoyed protecting the children at the Dame School, getting to know their families and watching the kids grow to adulthood. Most of all she was devoted to family and friends.
The beloved wife of the late Paul Lydon, she was a devoted mother to Michael Lydon and his wife Diana of Medford, Paul Lydon Jr and his life partner Shelley Tragar of Warwick, RI and the late Robert M. Lydon. Betty was a loving grandmother to Michael Sal, Erika, Ashley and Jacqueline. She was dear sister of the late Ann O’Brien and is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, August 25 from 9 thru 11 AM with a service in the funeral home at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
