Obituary

Irving S. Parker of Salem passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 21st 2018. He was the husband of the late Paula (Manning) Parker with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in Swampscott and raised in Marblehead, he was the son of the late David L. Parker and Doris Parker Moore. A graduate of Marblehead High School class of 1950. Irv was a Veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Coast Guard stateside. He worked at General Electric in Lynn for 48 years. After retiring, Irv worked at Winter Island Park in Salem for 16 years.
Irving was devoted to his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed New England Sports (especially the Red Sox), sitting on his front porch overlooking Osgood Park and taking rides through Marblehead. He was a member of the Gerry 5 Club in Marblehead and the Osgood Park Neighborhood Association for over 60 years.
Irving leaves his Children: Marion H. Swenbeck of Lynn and her fiancée Douglas Ross, Christopher S. Parker of Ponte Vedra, FL and his Wife Mariann, Billie Sue Parker of Salem, Andrew S. Parker of West Chester, PA and his wife Kerry, his Brother: David H. Parker of Orono, ME. He also leaves his grandchildren: Paula M. de Melo and wife Ashley de Melo, Amanda B. Monahan and husband Nick, Chelsea M. Brouillet and husband Ben, Erin E. Parker, Emily C. Parker and Steven Ross as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Frank of Gloversville, NY and grandson Donald Swenbeck of Salem.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday August 24th 2018 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette Street (Route 114/1A), Salem from 4 to 6:30pm with his funeral service in the funeral home at 6:30pm. Following his service, relatives and friends are invited to the Parker family residence for a celebration of his life. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Care Dimensions 75 Sylvan Street Suite B-102 Danvers, MA 01923. The family would like to acknowledge Salem Hospital and Care Dimensions for the excellent care provided to our father.
