Nellie Maria (Santamaria) Ciano of Tewksbury died on Tuesday, August 21, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home of Chelmsford. Born and raised in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Alfanso and Francesca (Giordano) Santamaria. Nellie moved to Medford in the early 1990's, and to Tewksbury in 2013.
Nellie was the beloved wife of the late Cosmo Ciano, and the devoted mother of Charles Ciano and wife Rosemary of Billerica, and Francine Zevitas of Tewksbury. She was the loving grandmother of Jennifer Kate and husband Michael of Woodbridge, VA, Jamie Allen and husband George of Tewksbury, Renee Ingalls and husband Stephen of Londonderry, NH, and Sandra Calder of Tewksbury. Nellie was the loving great grandmother of Adam, Christopher, Matthew, Mackenzie and Charlotte. She was predeceased by 2 sisters and 3 brothers, and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, August 24 at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family from 10 AM through 12 noon. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
