Robert P. “Buck” Nadeau, age 86, was called safely home, surrounded by his loving family, on Aug. 19, 2018 from the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Bob was born on May 13, 1932 and raised in Turners Falls MA. He was a son of the late Dona and Irene (Dube) Nadeau. He graduated from Turners Falls High School before joining the Air Force in August 1950. He served in the supply department during the Korean Conflict, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in September 1953. Bob worked at Savage Arms and also owned Nadeau’s American Service Station before he retired at the age of 60. Bob enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, watching sports and spending time with his family and friends. He married Delores (Dwyer) Nadeau who passed away in 2014. He is survived by his 4 sons, Robert P. Nadeau Jr and his wife Deborah of Chicopee, Ronald J. Nadeau of Chicopee, Michael J. Nadeau and his wife Nancy of Chicopee and John T. Nadeau of Springfield; his daughter Donna M. Dacey and her companion Christopher Chaves of Mendon, MA; 3 sisters, Lillian Neidbala of Gill, MA, June Samelson of York, PA and Claire Dennison of Colrain, MA; 6 grandchildren, Jonathan, Ryan, Kyle, Katelyn, John, Cooper and 1 great grandchild Cameron along with several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family. He is predeceased by his brother Marcel Nadeau and by his sister Rose Daigle. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Holyoke Soldiers Home for the excellent care and compassion given to their father during his time there. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, Aug. 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Patrick’s Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
