Obituary

Foster Chester Grubbs, 80, of Rockland, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on August 17th at Southeast Rehabilitation in Easton after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in Boston, MA in 1938, he was the son of Charles and Blanche (Bliss) Grubbs. He was the brother of Frederick Grubbs and Ruth Lanouette. He was predeceased by his late wife Gail (Barstow) Grubbs and former wife Rosemarie Grubbs. He also leaves behind his beloved children Pamela Butterworth of North Port, FL, Eric and his wife Kristina Grubbs of Whitman, MA, David Grubbs and his fianceé Denise Watterson of Plymouth, MA and Carolyn and her husband Joseph Bushe of Port Charlotte, FL. He was the grandfather to 16 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Foster worked for many years an electrical engineer at General Dynamics and retired as an electrician from the Christian Science monitor. He spent his retirement in New Hampshire and Florida with his former wife Rosemarie. He enjoyed camping and listening to Neil Diamond, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Foster was a long time member of Zion Foursquare Church in Rockland, MA where he forged many long term friendships. He was a great example of a man that followed God and he instilled that into his family. Foster trusted God completely and lived his life to please him. There is no doubt that his legacy followed him into heaven.

Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing Friday August 24th from 5-7PM followed by a service at 7PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, 666 Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary) in Whitman. Cremation will follow and family will have a private burial ceremony at a later date.
