William John Goodwin, 68, of Pittsfield, NH, passed away Sunday August 19, 2018, in Epsom Healthcare in Epsom, NH. He was born in Nashua, NH on November 6, 1949, one of eight children of the late Forrest and Barbara (Brooks) Goodwin. William was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Class of 1967 and received his two engineering degrees from New Hampshire Technical Institute. William proudly served his country in the US Navy during Vietnam.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary (Chase) Goodwin of Pittsfield; two sons, William Goodwin and wife Kimberly of Dulles-Fort Worth, TX, and Richard Goodwin and wife Melissa of Concord, NH; three grandchildren, Samuel, Megan and Michael, three brothers, Forrest Goodwin, Jr., David Goodwin, and Daniel Goodwin, four sisters, Virginia Strout Drummond, Patricia Genesse, Elizabeth Bayley, and Priscilla Bernard; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Eleanor Goodwin in 1973.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 3 - 5 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Derry, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Funeral services were held on Thursday August 23rd at 10:00 am in the funeral home. The burial followed at 12:00pm in NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH.
