Donald Eisnor, Sr., 87

Dateline: Norton, MA

Donald Eisnor, Sr., age 87, of Norton, passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 20, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Martha A. (Scott) Eisnor, to whom he was wed for sixty-three years at the time of her death on June 2, 2017.

Born in Brockton, MA on August 15, 1931, he was a loving son of the Ellis D. and Violet M. (Munroe) Eisnor.

Donald grew up in Easton and was a graduate of the Bristol County Agricultural School. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War and as an instructor at West Point Military Academy.

A longtime resident of Norton, Mr. Eisnor had been employed for twenty-eight years, working in various capacities at the former Fernandes Supermarkets. He also enjoyed very much working at Multi Fasteners in Franklin.

Donald loved spending time with his family, whom he was extremely proud of. He was an avid bowler and was a member of various leagues at North Bowl Lanes in North Attleboro. He was a talented furniture builder, a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox and also enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his devoted children Donald B. Eisnor, Jr. of Norton, Elizabeth A. Kelly and her husband Kevin of Norton, Joanne M. Fulks and her husband Daniel of California, Scott M. Eisnor and his wife Cindy of Wareham, Christine M. Carmichael and her husband Thomas of Norton, John D. Eisnor and his wife Sandy of Norton, Martha J. LaPalme and her husband Steven of Norton, and the late Anne Marie Eisnor and Robert Ellis Eisnor. He was the dear brother of Duane “Ike” Eisnor of Florida, Arnold Eisnor and his wife Joanne of Norton, Janet Yelle and her husband George of Norton, and the late David Eisnor, Alfred Eisnor, who is survived by his wife Leda, and Elaine Haggerty, who is survived by her husband Bill. He is also survived by his cherished 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, as well as several generations of loving nieces and nephews.

Private graveside funeral services, along with military honors, were held on Thursday, August 23rd at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.

Visiting hours were omitted and those wishing may remember Donald with a donation in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
