Alverna Ruth (Bonser) Horton passed away peacefully at Morton Hospital on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. She was 88 years old. She was the wife of the late Russell Henry Horton. She was born in Valentine, NE, to the late Laverne and Anna (DeSersa) Bonser. She graduated from St. Francis Mission School in Rosebud, SD and was a retired health care worker from Paul A. Dever State School. She traveled to many places around the country in her lifetime by car, motor home and motorcycle. Some of her favorite places were Plymouth, MA, Black Hawk, CO and San Francisco, CA. Some of her favorite things were John Wayne movies, playing cards, doing puzzles, chocolate ice cream, watching baseball and spending time with her family. She was known for her quick wit and loving nature. She is survived by her four children, Bruce and Patricia Horton of Warwick, RI, Rick and Claudine Horton of Hardin, MT, Jacqueline and Nicholas Adams of Melbourne, FL and Sandra Horton and her husband Gene Correia of Taunton who she lived with during her later years. She was also the mother of the late Barbara and Bernadette Horton. She also leaves her five grandchildren, Bernadette Koehler, Paula Graff, David Horton, Caroline Horton, and Jennifer Homeward and was also the grandmother of the late Lisa Adams. She was the great grandmother of five, Gregory Arbour, Sabrina Graff, Christopher Graff, Maranda Dutra and Bianca Homeward and also three great great grandchildren, Gregory Arbour, Yzbella Arbour and her newest love, Emilee Rose Dutra. She is survived by one brother, Donald Bonser of CA; she was the sister of the late Roy Francis Bonser, Virginia White, William Bonser, Robert Bonser, Ruby Turner, Audrey Whiting and Shirley Klein. She will be laid to rest with her daughter Barbara at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton, MA with a private service for the family. A “celebration of life” will be held on September 1st 2018 at the Axis Meeting House in Bridgewater, MA from 1 to 7pm. Arrangements are under the care of the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home in Taunton, MA.
