Bobby “Joey” J. O’Quinn Lindsey, 63, of Forsyth passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018, in Forsyth. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2018, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lonnie Lacy and Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. Mr. Lindsey will be laid to rest at Leila United Methodist Church Cemetery in Omega. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 19, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church.
Mark Redlinger, Tom Skinner, John H. Lindsey, Dr. Ray Evans, John Alan Lindsey and Al Kent will serve as pallbearers.
Born September 23, 1954 in Tifton, Mr. Lindsey was the son of Jo Edith Rutland Lindsey of Tifton and the late Bobby B. Lindsey. He graduated from Tift County High School in 1972 with honors; attended ABAC and majored in Political Science at the University of Georgia. He received his Master’s degree in Psychology from West Georgia College and his law degree from Mercer University. He then founded the law firm, Jay O’Quinn Lindsey Associates in Macon. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Lindsey was a member of the Georgia Bar Association. He enjoyed deer hunting and often donated the meat to local food banks. He enjoyed softball and golf and was well-loved by his family, friends and professional associates. He had published three books of poetry and loved to read classic literature.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Lindsey is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, John Alan and Tina Lindsey of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Al Kent of Tifton; and a niece, Ava Lauren Lindsey.
