Obituary

Our Mother, Ramona Antonia Rodriguez was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on April 3rd, 1966. She came to the United States with her mother when she was just six months old. From very early on her mother knew that she was special. She was kind, obedient and very intelligent. She noticed that Ramona was always trying her best to help everyone and everything, including animals.
Over the years she showed her adventurous side, working for an airline tourism company, and eventually owning her own night club in Puerto Rico. Ramona loved jet skiing and horseback riding. She attended college while having two young children, Franco S. Santos and Tiffany F. Rodriguez. She brought them with her every day to school until she graduated. Later, she met Marvin Malone while in the Virgin Islands had three children together, Ayana Yessica Malone, Markee Junior Malone and Miguelina Janette Malone.
Ramona loved spending time with her grandchildren Asyana Santos, Jiraiya Gonzales and Jayden Miller. She met and lived with her Partner Laudelono “Larry” Coehlo and often spoke to him about her plans to get better so that she could chase them around. They enjoyed dancing, fishing, and having a glass of wine together.
Ramona was very strong willed. Although she experienced many losses, including her father Luis Rodriguez, and two of her daughters Miguelina and Ayana Malone, she stayed strong for her loved ones.
If you ask anyone who knew her what type of woman she was, you would always get the same response…Ramona was the life of the party! Always laughing and joking and never took “no” for an answer. She was so kind-hearted, caring, and giving. It didn’t matter if it was the last of anything she had, she would give it away. If you visited her home, you couldn’t leave unless you had three bottles of water, two cups of juice and a cup of wine and/or beer! If she had to cook six times a day, she would do it just to make that sure everyone would eat. She was the strongest and most amazing woman we have ever met. She was and still is the rock that holds our family together. She fought a great battle and now it is time for her to rest.
