New Bedford – Duarte M. DaCosta, age 66 years old, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Bernadette Correia and son of the late Jose and Constantina (Tavares) DaCosta.
Duarte was born in Salga, St. Michael, Azores and was a painter for Armand Painting in Osterville until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadette; siblings, Jose Artur DaCosta of New Bedford, Saul Da Costa of New Bedford, Adelaide Correia of Florida; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was also the brother of the late Berta Melo.
Duarte's funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 with a Mass of Christian Burial to take place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 8:30 A.M. Everyone attending is politely asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will immediately follow in St. John's Cemetery.
