Robert E. De Joie, 90, of Medway, died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Loraine F. (Nolte) De Joie for almost 60 years.
Born in Boston on October 22, 1927, he was the son of the late Victor E. and Mary A. (Curran) De Joie.
Bob grew up in the Mission Hill section of Boston and was a resident of Medway for the past 58 years. He proudly served in the Army during WWII.
Before his retirement, Bob worked as a screw machine operator at the former Cambion Manufacturing in Cambridge.
Bob was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Holliston and was a member of the American Legion.
Besides his wife, he is survived by six sons, Robert De Joie and his wife Jane of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Mark De Joie and his wife Chong of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Brian Fuery and his wife Linda of Holliston, Bruce Fuery and his wife Robyn of Medway, David De Joie and his wife Cindy of Medway and Chris De Joie of Hollis, NH.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Justin, Steven, Suzanne, Nick, Lauren, Andrew, Brianna, Lindsey and Jason, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, Jack De Joie of Marshfield and Billy De Joie of Norton and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Eugene, Richard, Charlie and Paul De Joie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Friday, August 17 at St. Mary’s Church, 8 Church St. in Holliston at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
