Frances E. Dunphy, age 92, of Lake Lure, NC, died Monday, August 13, 2018, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City, NC.
Frances, a native of Rhode Island was the daughter of the late Edward P. Colvin and the late Anne J. Doyle Colvin. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Frances graduated from The Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing and was a registered nurse for over 45 years. She was a key person in establishing serveral home health care agencies in South Florida and Carolina Home Care in Rutherford County. Frances enjoyed painting and playing the piano. She was preceded in death by a brother; Edward J. Colvin and a sister; Anne Gertrude Reardon.
She is survived by her loving husband; Thomas F. Dunphy with whom she spent 67 wonderful years of marriage.

The Funeral Mass will be at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 17, 2018 with Father Herbert Burke and Deacon Andy Cilone officiating. A Rosary will be said Thursday. August 16, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of McMahan's Funeral Home followed by a visitation from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P. M.. Interment will be Monday at 11:30am in the Chapel at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston, RI.
