Hartnett, Rosemary C. (Golden) Of Easton, formerly of Natick and Nantucket, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted and beloved wife to the late Maurice (Mike) Hartnett, and cherished mother to five daughters: Kate Bowen (James) of Norfolk, Kathleen Hartnett of Franklin, RuthAnne Biggs (David) of Mansfield, Eileen Allen of Westminster, and Julie Jean Gray (Paul) of North Easton. “Nan” was also a beloved grandmother to Jason and Amanda Green, Benjamin Allen, Jessica and Caroline Biggs, Michael and Samuel Gray, and great-grandmother to Riley and Joseph Green and Eliza Mitchell. Rosemary is survived by her brother, James Golden of Braintree and predeceased by her brothers Peter, Paul, Joseph and John, and her sisters, Anne Foley and Maureen O’Rorke.
Born in Boston, Rosemary was the eldest daughter of Mary (Delahanty) and Peter Golden. She graduated from nursing school and worked at Cambridge City Hospital and as an Emergency Room nurse at Leonard Morse Hospital, Natick. Rosemary enjoyed square dancing with the Wellesley Square Riggers and traveled to Europe with the group and her sister Anne. Rosemary will be remembered for her extraordinary love for her family and her dedication to nursing and caring for others. She will be greatly missed and her legacy will live on in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, Wednesday, Aug. 15 from 8:00-9:45am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Paul Church, 502 Washington St., Wellesley at 10:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 990 LaGrange St., West Roxbury. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in the name of Mike Hartnett to The Cotting School or The Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children.
