Shirley B. (Martin) Dupont, 84, of Worcester died peacefully with family at her side in in the comfort of her home on Friday August 10, 2018. Her husband of 60 years Robert N. Dupont died in 2011.
She leaves her oldest daughter, Deborah M. Hill, her granddaughter Ashley Hill, three great-grandchildren Madison, Kylie and Tyler, her only son, Bill Dupont and his significant other Debra Gardell, three grandchildren, Bill Jr., and his wife Alyssa, Misty Williammee and her husband Alan and Joseph C. Dupont and two great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Aubrie, her youngest daughter, and caregiver Lynn Dupont – Baillargeon and her husband Jerry along with their nieces Patrice and Shanice Johnson. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by a son-in-law, James Hill in 2009 and Shirley was the youngest of 12 siblings who have all predeceased her. Shirley was born in Marlborough, and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Derosiers) Martin and has lived in Worcester most of her life.
Mrs Dupont worked for many years at N.E.D / New England Diamond on Grafton Street and retired several years ago. Her life was all about family and friends. She enjoyed reading, shopping and going out to eat. In her later years she enjoyed watching her great-grandchildren play in the pool. Shirley was a member of St Joseph Church, Holy Family Parish.
The funeral will be held on Thursday August 16, 2018 from DIRSA – MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday August 16, 2018 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN., 38105.
