NORTH WATERBORO - Melody “Mel” Lynn Lajoie, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2018 at her home as a result of many health issues. She was born in Portland, Maine on July 12, 1959. She was the daughter of Marvin Ewing of Windham, and the late Waverly Turgo of Portland.
She attended schools in Cornish and Portland. At the age of 17 Melody and her newborn son moved to California to work in the oil fields. After returning back to Maine she worked in the seafood business and various other jobs in the Portland area.
In 1991 she met the love of her life, Rodney, and they married in 1992. She loved gardening, camping, boating, fishing and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her mother Waverly Turgo, who passed away just four months before and her daughter in-law Becky Perry, in December 2016.
Melody is survived by her beloved husband Rodney Lajoie. Her children, Justin Perry of Kezar Falls and Christopher Lajoie of North Waterboro. Four grandchildren, Austin, Gretchen, Nathan Perry of Kezar Falls and Madalin Stevens of Rochester, New Hampshire. One great grandchild, Renee Perry of Hollis.
Visiting hours for Melody will be held on Friday August 17, 2018 from 6 PM – 8 PM at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, located at 71 Maple Street Cornish.
