Ruth Cook Jordan, 91, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, November 27, 2005, at the Osceola Nursing Home, in Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, November 29, 2005, at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald with the Rev. Jack Dorminey and Rev. Gerald Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 Monday evening.
Mrs. Jordan was born January 13, 1914 in Rhine, Georgia to the late Levi and Mary Elizabeth Brown Cook. She was a homemaker and a former supervisor at the Monarch Company. She was also a former supervisor at Osceola Nursing Home and a former employee of the Gift Gallery, Hallmark, and McConnell’s Fabric Store. She had lived in the community most of her life and was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Jordan is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Howard and Candace Jordan of Ocilla and Ed and Shirley Jordan of Tifton; three grandchildren and their spouses: Tara (Joe) Gallagher of Jacksonville, FL, Troy (Lisa) Jordan of Augusta, and Chad (Jana) Jordan of Florence, SC; three great-grandchildren: Jordan and Jacob Gallagher of Jacksonville, FL and Waters Jordan of Augusta; and two sisters: Corine Faulk of Fitzgerald and Mattie Durham of Stone Mountain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. “Bob” Jordan; a daughter-in-law: Sue Jordan; one sister; and two brothers.
