Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Kathleen S. (Scullion) Saunders, age 94, a resident of Tewksbury for 52 years, died Friday, November 25, 2005 at the Tewksbury Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Eugene F. Saunders, who died December 30, 1976.
Born in Lowell on July 25, 1911, she was the daughter of the late John and Jane (Lennox) Scullion.
Mrs. Saunders attended Lowell schools and graduated from the former Lowell Normal School (Lowell State Teachers College) in 1929.
While living in Lowell, she attended St. Margaret’s Church and the Immaculate Conception Church.
In 1962, she joined St. Robert Bellarmine Parish of Andover and according to her family was one of the original church members.
Mrs. Saunders was a former member of the Keith Academy and Keith Hall P.T.A. and the St. Margaret’s and Immaculate Conception Ladies Sodality.
She is survived by three daughters; Mary Jo O’Brien and her husband Thomas of Tewksbury; Jane E. dos Santos and her husband Dr. Fernando dos Santos, Ann F. Welch and her husband Bryan all of Salem, NH; four sons; Eugene L. Saunders and his wife Joan(Chappelle), Thomas F. Saunders and his wife Linda (Lermond) all of Tewksbury, John E. Saunders and his wife Maryann (Bettencourt) of Salem, NH and Paul J. Saunders of Tewksbury; twenty three grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mrs. Saunders was the sister of the late John and Charles Scullion and Josephine Griffin, grandmother of the late Eugene L. Saunders, Jr. and mother-in-law of the late June (McCarthy) Saunders and Joan (Durkin) Saunders.
Calling hours Tuesday, November 29th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Wednesday, November 30th at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggett’s Pond Rd., Andover. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Tewksbury Hospital Recreation Department, 365 East St., Tewksbury, MA 01876 are requested.
