Patricia C. (Corvino) Gianatassio, a longtime resident of Malden passed away on August 6, 2018 at Mass General Hospital. She was 79 years old.
Patricia was born in Somerville, MA. She grew up in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School. She worked for Boston University and most recently the Malden Housing Authority for 10 years.
Patricia was the beloved wife of Joseph A. Gianatassio. She was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Rose (Ferrante) Corvino. Patricia was the loving mother of Dr. Mark Gianatassio and his wife Barbara of Wilmington, Matthew Gianatassio and his wife Diane of Quincy and the late Julie Ann Gianatassio and her surviving husband Sergio Pina. She was the dear sister of Marie Fonzi and her late husband Ricci, Angela Sohn and her husband Gerald, Joan Zollo and the late Nancy Ingemi and her surviving husband Joseph, the late Francis and Nicholas Corvino, the late Robert Corvino and his surviving wife Delanne and the late Pat “Butchie” Corvino and his surviving companion Cathy Kelley. Patricia was the cherished grandmother of Danielle and Nicole Gianatasso and Isabella Gianatassio-Pina. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Monday August 13th at 8:45am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-7pm. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
