Theresa C. (Goggin) Doherty, a longtime resident of Charlestown and formerly of Uris, Dunaff, Clonmany, County Donegal, Ireland entered into eternal life on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. She was 85 years of age.
Theresa was born in Boston on August 12, 1932, a daughter of the late James F. Goggin and Mary (Doherty) Goggin. At the age of 2, Theresa's family moved from Charlestown to Uris, Donegal Ireland where she grew up and was educated there. Following 20 years of living in Donegal, Ireland, Theresa moved back to Charlestown and has been a resident ever since. She was a homemaker most of her adult life who cherished the quality moments she was able to spend with her husband and 2 sons and their families. She also enjoyed playing bingo .
Theresa is the beloved wife of the late Donald F. Doherty. She is the devoted mother of Daniel Doherty and his wife Sandy of Charlestown and David Doherty and his wife Debbie of Quincy. She is the loving Nana to Conor, Ryan, Ashley and her husband Vinny, Stephen and her great-granddaughter Julianna. She is the beloved sister of the late Mary Crowley, Anna McDevitt and James Goggin. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Theresa's Funeral on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Her visiting hours will be on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
